Matt is the owner of the Taunt Law Firm and is proud that our team of professionals continues the Firm’s tradition of serving its clients in a professional, effective, and efficient manner. Matt specializes in the representation of closely held businesses and their owners. This includes the formation and maintenance of corporations and limited liability companies, advising clients regarding operational matters, the purchase and sale of operating businesses, and when necessary, providing experienced and aggressive litigation counsel.

In addition, Matt frequently represents parties in Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy cases. He represents both businesses and individuals in restructuring matters through the analysis, planning, and conclusion of their cases.

Matt’s clients include:

Owners of franchised international restaurants in multi-location acquisitions and sales of existing facilities

A service industry franchisor successfully pursuing litigation to obtain a non-dischargeable judgment against a former franchisee who fraudulently transferred assets in violation of the franchise agreement

The secured creditor in the Chapter 11 liquidation of a specialty vehicle manufacturing company, which included the sale of the core business for $25 million, and lifting the automatic stay to allow the secured creditor to conduct an orderly liquidation of the remaining assets resulting in a multimillion-dollar recovery

The bankruptcy trustee in the liquidation of a multi-national automotive supplier with operations in the US and Europe. The assignment included defense of WARN Act claims in federal court and liquidation of a Spanish subsidiary under Spanish law
